Workshop Curriculum Competencies ::.
Basic Black & White and Color Photography ::. Course Duration :: 10 tutorial sessions ::. one or two classes per week for a 2 hour class time (Rs. 3000 per hour)
Black and White Photography Introduction ::.The workshop introductory course in black and white photography will cover basic photography techniques, from basic camera operation to making a finished print. Weekly assignments and critiques will emphasize the development of camera vision and explore its aesthetic possibilities as a visual medium. Each student should have a manually operated camera that can be used throughout the course. We will cover the camera, photographic techniques, developing digital black and white images for printing. Course Description ::. An introduction to 35 mm still photography (Digital or Analog Camera), this course will familiarize the student with the basic skills of photography including the principles, methods, theory, and practice. This is a non-darkroom course designed to introduce students to the operation of their camera, exposure variables; light, filters, and basic tone control. Photographic aesthetics/composition, history contemporary artists, professional applications, and other technical aspects of photography will be addressed through weekly lectures and critiques of photographic shooting assignments. Colour Photography Introduction ::. The emphasis will be on learning the technical and aesthetic aspects of the color photographic medium. This course explores the language of color photography through the understanding of the aesthetic issues involved in color picture making. Aesthetics and technique will be integrated throughout the course with critiques and lectures on color photography as well as color concepts taken from other disciplines in the Visual Arts. Course Description ::. This class explores the nature of the color of light and how human perception differs from the limited response of photographic materials. Color transparencies or digital images are the primary medium for this investigation of physical and perceptual responses to color in weekly lectures, critiques, and assignments. Color will enable and inspire students to respond and create imagery within the medium and is an overview of the real world of color photography. Ultimately over the course of the complete workshop the student will become more proficient in their ability to see and work with color. There will be formal discussions on many aspect of color vision, composition, color theory and self-expression, content and photographic strategy. A specific course requirement is to have a greater understanding on how light enhances the design element of texture, pattern and form. Basic Studio Photography ::. The Final Course Prerequisite ::. Photography Level One and Level Two
Introduction ::. Basic Studio Photography is an introduction to electronic flash for studio use. The emphasis will be on studio lighting techniques and methods concerning portrait and product lighting. It will cover the complex uses of artificial light and daylight, which will include the applications of artificial light and techniques for controlling natural lights with bounce boards, diffusers, materials and filtration. During the course, they should develop their own style to be reflected in their image portfolio. Course Description ::. The basic steps from setting up their studio workspace to establishing their portfolio will be covered. Lighting on shooting different subjects including portrait, still life, will be demonstrated. The course gives emphasis to hand-on experience and studio practice. Students will acquaint themselves with the use of flash and tungsten lighting and manipulation of indoor and outdoor setting during tutorials. The in student lectures, we will study studio works of photographic masters and discuss their individual style .We expect students to establish their own style and creativity through discussion and presentation on photographic masterworks. Their creative elements and lighting techniques will be analyzed. Step by step, we will guide our students through simple lighting assignments to help them carrying out their own photographic projects. Photoshop for Photographers :: Photography in the Digital Age ::. This class will teach the student how to self-publish their own images. Students will learn how to import their images from analog or digital sources, and learn how to use and blend layers to create stunningly new images. Issues of resolution, resizing and how to resample will also are covered in depth. Students will discuss color gamut, color channels and the color theory of RGB vs. CMYK. One loves to capture a moment or convey an idea. Burn an image into people’s minds. Photographers shoot with a combination of artistry and technical skills. Once an image is preserved, it can be presented as is—or it can be manipulated for a desired effect. Workshop Admission Form ::. Fill the form with the required information online.
