Breathing

There is a certain kind of reciprocity that takes place when photographing landscapes, a momentary pause to take it all in, an in between, an acceptance – perhaps this is my connection with the natural world I try to capture. Where breath becomes air, and the mouth is unsuccessful to produce words. Like a graceful limbo, similar to the delicate balance of life between our exhales and inhales. This is how I feel about open vistas and landscapes, a place in between, where you stand before the vast unknown, present. Entirely there. I look: seemingly in a trance, sky to earth and a stillness of time.
